I hate Reading by Danielle Usko, reading questions.

Q4.

The sponsor may have felt that they had a larger more positive impact on the student because of how much time they spent working together on reading. As well as Danielle made it clear that she did like her teacher and they got along well. But I think for this literacy narrative the sponsor would agree mostly on how the literacy moment had occurred.

Q5.

It is interesting that she did go to a reading class, but it had no persuasion on how she viewed reading, the class did not make her hate reading more, and nor did it make her like or want to read more. She ended the class thankful it was over, so she could be with her other friends and still a dislike for reading.

Marykate Fitzgerald, A Child’s Education

Q4.

Her parents perspective I believe would be very similar because the parents know that they were supportive.

However Mrs. Paterson may have viewed her interactions with Marykate as a normal event and she did not think that she was criticizing Marykate’s reading just trying to enforce and teach the idea of rereading and making sure you understand what you just read, even if that means you have to reread what you have seen.

Q5.

How at the end of the narrative they acknowledge that reading will be something that she will always struggle with, but because of her passion to be a nurse she must do what she can to improve upon her reading comprehension. Then she expanded upon the fact that the education system should try to find a different way to deal with a student who is behind.

Katherine Parker, Acceptance of Change

Q4.

Mr. Cobb probably viewed this as most likely a normal occurrence with his students, he was a very helpful man who wanted to sponsor all learning even if it was not the subject he taught. As well as the fact he could not not help the student with her English issues.

Mr. St. Pierre, probably thought he was being helpful because he was pushing Kathrine to really try to problem solve for her self instead of just being told what to fix. Instead by withholding information he thought this would push her to produce better essays with a cleaner style of writing.

Q5.

It is hard to put this story into an identity because she was not really a victim because she got another sponsor who helped her become successful, so I said it became a hero narrative. This is complicated because the identity shift is hard to really pick up on.

Bauer Hill, The little boy, and the book

Q4.

The mom would describe how excited and happy he was to read and would only be happy if he was getting to read. He also always wanted to impress her with his skills, so she would have said how good of a kid he was and that he was so studious as a child.

Q5.

It was interesting how he was able to create such a great way to always enjoy reading and writing and I think it was wirth noting because many of us can relate to the idea of wanting to make their mom proud.
