Individualized error

Writing has never been one of my strong skills in English. I have always been great at understanding what the author is saying as well as the meaning the author wants us to understand. However when it comes to describing this in writing is when I run into trouble. Many times my papers are covered with comma splices, run on sentences. As well as block quotes or hit and run quotes, where I just drop in the quote and not have a lead in and or an introduction. During paper 3 I made sure to focus on these mistakes so my grammar and writing format does not interfere with my ideas and the main message of the paper.

To be able to reduce the amount of error I had in my paper, I had three different people look over the paper to try to catch any mistakes that I did not notice. I am still trying to get better at this learning outcome, and to reduce the number of little mistakes I have.

Punctation in quotes is something I still struggle with because I tend to switch where the period is supposed to go.

My sentence structure and having compound sentences and complex sentences. In this paper, I did try to focus more on my run-ons and comma placement and not so much on if I have complex and or compound sentences. I tried to focus on if my sentence had a good order and my message was clear.

Proofreading is something I always try to practice and do to my best ability. However many times I do not catch the comma splices and run-ons, which is why I try to have someone else to also look over the paper to help me catch these mistakes. What I am good at when proofreading is making sure that my paragraphs have a good flow and that all of my ideas are clear.
