Active reading

This is an example of what my annotations looked like halfway through the first semester:

When I am active reading I always make sure I include questions, if I am reading something that I do not understand I write out a question so I can ask for clarification in the future.

Second I make sure I write down my understanding of what the author is talking about, by doing this I am able to check in on my understanding as well as be able to use it for when I am writing papers to add the I say.

Third I make sure I write about how different things can relate to what the author is discussing like text to world or text to text and text to self.

Fourth I will challenge what the author says if it goes against what I believe is to be true.

These steps I now always use whenever I am reading for school, this is a large improvement from when I was in high school and the very beginning of the school year, I use to just write a question and not really go into any detail about what I think of the quote.

Here is the link to some of the annotations that I used to help me write my significant writing project.
